Good Friday is hard for kids to understand. Why call the day Jesus died, good? Because the cross was God's rescue plan. Isaiah wrote, "He was pierced for our transgressions. The punishment that brought us peace was on him." We broke our relationship with God and couldn't fix it. Death. Jesus stepped in and paid it completely on the cross. Explain it like this. When somebody pays what you owe, you're free. And that's what Jesus did for us. Good Friday shows the heart of the gospel. Jesus didn't just die, He died in our place. Because of His sacrifice, forgiveness is a gift we received through faith, not something we earn.
